Accessibility Statement.

How this site is built to be usable, what we know is imperfect, and how to tell us.

HomeAccessibility Statement

We want this site to be usable by as many people as possible, including people using a screen reader, keyboard navigation or magnification.

01

What we have done

  • Structured headings and landmarks, so pages can be navigated by structure, and a skip link to the main content.
  • Text that reflows and stays readable when zoomed and on small screens.
  • Colour contrast checked against WCAG 2.1 AA for body text and controls.
  • Visible keyboard focus on links, buttons and form fields, and form fields with real labels.
  • The survey tabs, the “Which survey do you need?” checker, the questions and the booking form can all be used with a keyboard.
  • Motion and animation are switched off automatically when your device asks for reduced motion, and no content depends on an animation to be seen.
02

Standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. We test as we build rather than auditing once, and we do not claim the site is perfect.

03

Known limitations

  • Some graphics are visual: the asbestos-use timeline, the risk meters in the materials table and the example score bar. The same information is given in text alongside each one.
  • The booking form is provided by a third-party form plugin. We control its labels and wording, but not all of its internal markup.
04
