Terms & Conditions.

The terms on which we quote for, and carry out, an asbestos survey.

Policy · Updated 1 November 2026
HomeTerms & Conditions

These terms apply when you ask us for a price or book a survey. Please read them before booking.

01

The service

We carry out asbestos management surveys, refurbishment and demolition surveys, sampling of individual materials and re-inspections of known asbestos, following HSE’s guidance in Asbestos: The survey guide (HSG264). Samples are analysed by a laboratory. The survey covers the areas agreed in the written scope that can reasonably be accessed on the day; any area that cannot be accessed is named in the report and presumed to contain asbestos until it is checked. We survey and report. We do not remove, encapsulate or repair asbestos.

02

Quotes and prices

Your price is fixed and confirmed in writing, together with the scope and the date, before anyone visits. It depends on the survey type, the size of the building, the likely number of samples and access. A quote is valid for 30 days. If the building turns out to be materially different from what was described, for example more floors, outbuildings or areas than expected, we will tell you before doing any extra work and agree it with you.

03

Booking and access

You are responsible for arranging access to every area in the agreed scope, including lofts, plant rooms, risers and any locked areas, and for giving occupiers or tenants proper notice. For a refurbishment or demolition survey, the area being surveyed must be empty and out of use while we work. If we attend at the agreed time and cannot get in, a revisit fee may apply.

04

Your responsibilities

  • Give us accurate information about the building, how it is used and the work you are planning.
  • Share any earlier surveys, registers, plans or records of asbestos removal.
  • Tell us about any known hazards on site.
  • Act on the findings. Where you are the dutyholder, the duty to manage asbestos, and the duty to make sure contractors know what is present, remain yours.
05

The report

You receive a written report setting out what was surveyed, where asbestos was found or presumed, the condition of each item, the laboratory results and recommended actions, and any areas not reached. We confirm when to expect it when we agree the booking. The report records what was found on the day within the agreed scope. A management survey is not intrusive enough for building work: before refurbishment or demolition, a refurbishment and demolition survey of the affected areas is needed.

06

Payment

Payment terms are confirmed in your written quote. Unless agreed otherwise, payment is due when the report is delivered.

07

Cancellation

You may cancel or rearrange without charge up to 24 hours before the appointment. See our Refund Policy for the detail, including your statutory cancellation rights as a consumer.

08

Liability

We carry professional indemnity insurance. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Otherwise, our liability is limited to the fee paid for the survey.

09

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
